Buttplates For Modular Stocks

I got the BIGGEST option, with the widest butt plate for my Kriss Vector in 10mm (the photos shot the Vector's lower removed). I had previously had a brace on it, but finally SBR'd it, so I could put a forward grip on it, & now I'm installing an FRT into it. Thus, I needed a better butt plate to help my shoulder!

I appreciate that I can quickly repurpose a stock when moving between platforms by swapping either the arm or the buttplates as needed.

A3T buttplate is fantastic when you need a compact option for a folding stock. It has a smaller silhouette and is less likely to obstruct the use of the firearm when firing while folded. It also is quick to shoulder. Ideal for compact platforms with less recoil.

Magpul #1 and #2 buttplates are better for when you need a more robust solution for recoil absorption and proper shouldering. #1 has a slightly smaller footprint, more traditional thick rubber design and less aggressive angle. #2 has a thicker, enhanced design and a slightly larger footprint and is going to be your most effective option for managing recoil. I feel that #2 is easier to shoulder quickly; the angle helps when raising the firearm from your side and you can “slide” it into your shoulder pocket while #1 is better for pulling the firearm straight back into your shoulder and feels more secure once aligned perfectly. #2 would be better with plates. #1 would be better from a prone or sitting position.

A3T Xtendo is extremely thin and adds additional length. It has the thinnest recoil pad of all options. There are a couple specific reasons to purchase this buttpad. First, you need the length for any reason; either you’re an extremely long armed individual or you are using the same stock between two platforms with different lengths of pull. It’s much easier to swap a buttplate than an arm and much cheaper to buy another buttplate instead of a complete arm. Second, when you need the thinnest possible package for storage reasons and/or for concealment reasons if you’re bold (or crazy) enough. Finally, this is helpful if you have an offset arm and an extra two inches of offset length will help clear any obstacles from your gear such as masks, face shields, etc.

Overall, I think the modularity makes it easy to put together a stock for your specific needs and stock legos can be cost effective versus buying multiple complete stocks.
