Product Description

Bring a compact bullpup layout to your bufferless AR platform with the A3 Industries TRIAD Modular Bullpup Chassis. Designed to house a standard milspec AR lower receiver, the TRIAD pairs with a compatible bufferless upper and a platform-specific installation kit.

The chassis ships partially assembled, with the front trigger and selector installed, adjusted, and tested. Its construction combines a fiber-reinforced polymer housing with machined aluminum components, steel linkage, and bronze bushings.

Way too much fun!

Bought in the first year of production and put a BRN180 upper in 350 legend on it.

Pin and weld flash hider brought the whole thing to 26. 25” overall. I’ve literally put it in a travel guitar gig-bag without the barrel poking out.
It’s my deer rifle now, and also a blast at the range with ball ammo.

Planning to pick up another one for CMMG dissent in 9mm (cheaper ammo), but part of me wants to hold out in case A3 makes a big bore triad chassis, (???) especially now that the dissent line runs in 6. 5c, . 308 and even 8. 6B.

I have two!

I have a 8. 5" Jakl 300AAC, And a 12. 5" FM-15 also 300AAC. The kits are pretty easy to assemble. And in my opinion the best of the conversion kits.

Nearly perfect

Great fit and finish.

By far the most aesthetically appealing conversion platform out currently.

Would love to see more Triad specific accessories, particularly for the forend and possibly a metal version for fm-15 uppers.

Love the built-in flared magwell.

Dislike the protruding bump in front of the magwell for the torx screw, it can dig into the wrist when manipulating the firearm without a magazine inserted.

Overall 9/10

Super impressed!!

Have a little over 100 rds on my Foxtrot 16” upper on the Triad bullpup lower and love this thing. It’s a fresh feeling after shooting tons of AR-15’s. Definitely going to get a lot of use!

Great Chassis

I had an unused . 300BLK rifle upper and fit it with a Law Tactical ARIC bolt making it buffer less. NOT one of the standard builds supported by A3, but I figured with a little ingenuity it could work.
First, this chassis is well thought out and the trigger mechanism is spot on. No problems with a mil spec lower, instant fit and function.
My only problems were that I had a rear charging upper and the space between the hand guard and forward part of the chassis was different than the trigger cover plate was set to accommodate. THIS IS TOTALLY BECAUSE OF MY WEIRD BUILD. I’m sure if I had a BRN 180 it would have worked out of the box! Everything is clean, the parts are high quality and the instructions are clear.
I printed a different but pad spacer and trigger cover plate as well as milling a small spot on the hand guard to get the spacing correct and it all came together great.

Well built, works great, just plain fun

I got the first run of the Triad for a 13. 9" Foxtrot Mike upper I already owned. The kit was easy to assemble, and well constructed. Ton of fun to shoot, and the combo has been totally reliable.

Added the CQB butt plate once I got my SBR stamp, as well as an ODG A3 pistol grip just for the match with the other accessories. ODG Slate Black VFG, rail covers, and a Edgar Sherman sling round out the bolt-ons. AEMS, NGAL clone, Surefire M340 and DA Sandman K shown in the most recent configuration.

I also added a Seekins extended bolt catch, with the FM15 upper this extends the bottom nub out enough to hold the pistol grip with your right hand, pull the bolt back with the charging lever on the left, and hit the bolt stop with your stretched left thumb. Showing clear is a lot easier with that inexpensive part, and if you order an FM-15 Triad, use this part on the install so you don't have to tear down the build to replace a standard catch, like I had to.

Pictures show the evolution of my setup.

Holy New Year's Eve!

Great Scott! This makes the JAKL matter. Much more compact than their factory offering, great trigger, super cool looking. The engineering is solid. Amazing given this is an accessory house that they can engineer greater firearm designs than a firearms manufacturer.

Couldn't be happier with it. Wish it was lighter but that's on PSA. Highly recommend, super helpful dudes for tech support too.

It's worth it

I would recommend this but I'll will warn you the cmmg lowers are tight enough to make field stripping impossible.

Update to Review on 09/25/205

With the entire lower put together. There are no issues if you are using an ar-15 mag. There are big fitment issues if you try to use a ar-15 to 9mm adaptor for the magazine well. I had to use a electric Dremel and carve out the polymer mag area to fit the adaptor. This will take another 1-2 hours to complete the lower build. I am going with the matador arms 9mm upper for my build. I think a warning on the FAQ page would be helpful here. I do enjoy putting guns together, so I am not mad or angry. Just thought there could have been more information. (The two mag adaptors (Matador Arms Mag-X Glock, and the Sylvan Arms AR-15 f/9mm Sig version, both of these are the same size)

Triad Review

The chassis is well made and easy to install everything. I have tried looking everyone on the website, but there are no instructions on installing all the parts for the matador arm's 9mm kit. I am still waiting on my upper to actually use the bullpup.

Awesome bullpup

Easy to assemble, well designed, quality feel. Added a Rise 525 trigger, which is excellent. Flawless operation. assemble

Quality piece of kit

Unfortunately, Brownell’s BRN-180 uppers are on backorder and I cannot yet assemble the Triad. That said, the kit looks well made and high quality.

Great chassis, terrible trigger

I love my Triad, but I hate hate hate Rise's Rave 140 trigger. Even after giving it time to break in and a thorough cleaning, I still get light strikes. As a matter of fact, I get MORE light strikes now than I did during my initial break-in.

If you buy this, DON'T get the Rave 140. I got my Triad via pre-order and didn't get an option, but now that you do, don't get the Rave.

Best bullpup conversation out there

Fit and finish is top notch! Like it was made for my PSA JAKL. They should be sold like this as an option. Flawless for the first 1000 rnds

Nice

Always liked tge bullpup concept and already have a RDB, but recently purchased another BRN-180 which I like lot, but didn't want to just build another typical AR, and looked around for sn alternative. Found the A3 Tactical Triad which got very good reviews and decided on it after considering another new item. The Triad is well thought out and solid and linked with a BRN-180 upper is a great rifle. It feels great, well balanced; haven't shot it as yet. Just a few hiccups, with one minor one yet unresolved regarding the trigger cap which was not at all addressed in the instructions, which were a little vague in a few places as was the online utube video which icered a foxtrot Mike build. But overall, I would definitely do it again and do recommend tge Triad as a nice alternative to a standard AR.
